4月6日晚，由甘肃省文化和旅游厅、甘肃省文学艺术界联合会、定西市人民政府联合主办的“梅绽新韵 花开定西”第七届甘肃戏剧红梅奖大赛在定西大剧院开幕。
本次参赛作品囊括了话剧、秦腔、京剧、陇剧、曲子戏、儿童剧等剧种，以及小戏、小品、折子戏等表演形式，参赛作品都具有很强的思想性、艺术性和观赏性，基本反映了当前甘肃省戏剧发展的真实水平。
开幕式结束后，定西铁堂演艺有限公司创排的大型现代纪实秦腔剧《大坪故事》作为大赛首场参赛剧目进行了演出。
